Sadly, we are writing this article because instagram has given us no choice. Back in May 2015, The Industry On Blast was established. We began as a joke and quickly grew into the fastest growing blog on instagram aside from @balleralert and @theshaderoom.
We forgave instagram and kept it pushing until summer 2016 when they unexpectedly deleted our account @theindustryonblast_ for “promoting self harm” or suicide. Both of our accounts were reported for the same issue and they would not reactivate our account. We find it a COP OUT that their excuse was that a MEDIA SITE with hundreds of thousands of followers would be suicidal 🙄 oh yeah give us a break.
So we reached out to well known personality Karen Civil who is like the Olivia Pope of the entertainment industry. Whomever Karen spoke with divulged that due to legal reasons, our account would not be restored! We had to start over!! 307,000 followers gone and a rival blog was who everyone suspected had us deleted.
We started over and our backup profile was at 80,000 and we kept pushing until June 12,2017 when we awoke to our page @theindustryonblast being deleted again with no explanation this time.
So here we are at the VERGE of becoming the 3rd largest media site on instagram and we are deleted ONCE again while the company fails to respond to appeal after appeal. For three weeks we are left with no way to contact our fans as INSTAGRAM removed our backup page at 8k followers this week!! 😡 It is really unfortunate that a site so popular would play a dirty dirty game with people’s livelihood’s. Instagram was not only a source of $$ for us but a place for us to exercise our entrepreneurial skills. It is unfortunate that because we have rivals who wish to play dirty, we are forced into oblivion. We wouldn’t recommend ANYONE to start a brand on this platform as you can virtually lose almost 1,000,000 people and thousands of dollars at the blink of an eye.
Should instagram give us an explanation or reactivate our account-remains to be seen. We encourage anyone with business sense to stay clear of this social media entity. ➖ The worst feeling is logging into your account and seeing “Your account has been disabled for not following our terms”.
